What a Lovely Comment
September 7, 2012 | By: Cristiane Cardoso | Posted in: Blog, Comment of the Week
I received many comments on my post “Creating a Testimony,” and most of them were by people that did exactly what was mentioned in the text. People trying to warn others about the truthfulness of the post, and that they’re living proof of it. I’m very proud of those people because they didn’t hide behind their anonymity; instead, they used their bad experiences to help others. Still, there is one comment that really called my attention and I would like to share it with you all:
I go against the norm
I’m 21 and I’ve never been clubbing.
I’ve never slept around. (I know what I’m worth!)
I’m engaged to my first boyfriend.
I’m a virgin. ( And I’m proud of it!)
I’ve never smoked, drank or used drugs.
I’ve never had to resort to cheating or being dishonest to reach my goals.
My heart does not control my life!
And most important of all: the devil has never had me in his arms!
I rejected the world and this doesn’t mean that I don’t have a testimony- on the contrary!
I am fulfilled and it surprises me to see how God blesses me!
Thamyres Malaquias
How wonderful, right? Congratulations Thamyres, you make me proud!

I agree with Ntombi,
Partying, drinking or having sex before marriage are not the only sins. What about grudges, unforgiveness, lies, laziness, neglecting the word of God etc. I am very happy you did not do the things you mentioned but focus on other areas of your life. God bless. dorothy Vwoman.
Your tetimony is wonderful Thamyres but I just want to warn u against becoming self-righteous and proud. Yes, maybe you’ve never done any of the dirty things that people like myself have done before coming to the church (I worked as a prostitute before giving my life to God) but you’ve definitely sinned for we all fall short of God’s grace. God does not save us because of our works but because we love him through faith. His love for us is so pure and great that it has the power to cleanse us and make us new again, as if we’d never sinned. In the bible He says that our sins will be as far removed from us as the East is from the West. So, when you repent & give your life to God, you become blameless as if you have never sinned! For me, this is the most marvellous thing about the Lord’s sacrifice for us. This is why we must not be religious but rather we must live by faith.
Congratulations indeed Thamyres. You are a testimony. Bad things do not need to have happened to you for your life to have testimony.
There are many young girls nowadays who are growing up in the church and have not “experienced” the negative things of this world and I believe that you are a testimony to them!
God bless you!
Very true, Mrs. Cris… she is someone that should feel proud of such a wonderful testimony!! Very uplifting testimonies like these!!
