Creating a Testimony

“Have you not brought this on yourself,
in that you have forsaken the Lord your God
when He led you in the way?
And now why take the road to Egypt,
to drink the waters of Sihor?
Or why take the road to Assyria,
to drink the waters of the River?
your own wickedness will correct you,
and your backsliding will rebuke you.
Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing
that you have forsaken the Lord your God,
And the fear of Me is not in you,”
Says the Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 2: 17-19

God’s word is very clear about what happens to those who abandon Him. In some cases, you might even be a church member (active in a group that helps others) or hold a position worthy of respect; but in spite of all of this, you still find yourself in the position described above. To abandon is not only a physically act. In truth, most of those who abandoned God went down that sad path while still in church. They wanted their will to be done, at any cost; but when things didn’t work out as planned, they ended up holding a grudge against God Himself.

I know people like that. They are people that lead a worldly life even in the church. They don’t want to give up their mistakes or lifestyle. They say: “It’s great to have lots friends, to know that some of them want me, to be the center of attention wherever I go, and occasionally hook up with someone secretly… After all, God knows I’m only a teenager. I have the right to live my life. Come to think of it, I need a story to tell later on when I finally decide to take my faith seriously!”

You know the truth but prefer to live a lie. Be aware that God won’t punish you, but your crime will. The day you decide to take your faith seriously, you’ll do it with tears and a lot of regret. Just thinking about the things you did will bring you shame…

Thank you Mrs Cristiane, it is so sad to think there are people that even when they are advised they choose their own way because they are full of themselves and empty of God. Instead of being full of God within and empty of themselves and own will.
True that sometimes others learn from others mistakes, however others learn the hard way – which happens often when one does not want to listen and obey the word of God. Nomsa – Soweto

This is so true, most people ignore what the learn inside the church giving all excuses as if they are doing anybody a favor.People must learn that we can’t expect things from God if we are not willing to obey Him and we should not blame anybody but ourselves tomorrow if anything happens.

This is it, it is as far as it can go. I was like that myself in the first year I attended church; fully deceiving myself thinking it was ok to ‘get the best of both worlds’ all it done was lead me to constant accusations when I was doing wrong (because I learnt the right way but chose to do the opposite), frustration within myself (because I was living a double life) and stuck (because God couldn’t give me anymore as I was limiting surrender to Him) only when I made a decision to stop and start a fresh with God I was able to LIVE and how I regret delaying a whole year of growth with my God!

This message is really strong, so many young girls are after having big testimony and make themselves believe that when they ready to take they faith seriously they will, however who knows if their gonna live to see that day.

    Dear Mrs Cristiane

    Thank you for sharing this.

It showed me the importance acting on the word of God and not leave it until it is too late.

    God Bless you

    Love Karen

Wasting time thinking that you will do the right thing tomorrow is a rather risky thing to do because all we have is ‘now’, no one knows the day or the hour and for some, ‘tomorrow’ never came at all and the consequences of their wait are eternal. I choose to make the right choice NOW as that will determine what my tomorrow will look like. Thanks for the post Mrs. Cris.

    Thank you Mrs Cris

It is true Mrs cris we have to hold on to our God and give our self a time to be more close to Him. I have to please my father He is the one who created me.

what I understood from this is that it is important for us to surrender our all in our Christianity because when we don’t want to give up the mistakes that have been pointed out to us even the “little ones” that is a sign of pride which is also a big sign for a fall! and its like the bible says a little leaven leavens the whole lump, a little mistake we don’t care to change or advice we think we don’t need to take seriously and your abandoning God’s way and your own wrongs is what will punish you.

    Dear Mrs Cardoso,

What God has used you to write here is a great warning and an exact testimony of what I experienced. I left the presence of God in my late teens having spent my life being brought up in the church and being very active in the church. I can say that I was literally “abused” by the world in form of men, friends, crime and etc. I came back to God on my knees and have since learnt to put him first and be lead by him alone. Although one of the things that lead me to leave the presence of God was my desire to experience the world you are completely right in saying that those experiences have only brought ashes and shame to that period of my life. Today, indeed I do have a testimony because of God’s Love and Mercy in my life however if I could erase the past I would do it in an instant because a lot of precious time was lost in pain. I pray that people heed this warning as I now understand the meaning of 1st Samuel 15: 22 ” (…) to obey is better than sacrifice (…) .
The world has nothing good to offer therefore I know that those in the presence of God should not not play with their privilege.

Thank you for collaborating with your personal experience. May God continue blessing you with His grace daily. Your sincerity will serve to reach out those in similar situations.

:) your friend in the faith,

This is true Mrs Cristiane, We cannot have the World and God at the same time and expecting God to Bless us and to see our life changed! It’s impossible!
It’s either God or the World…. We need to decide!
It’s never God’s fault when things do go our way; we just reap what we sow…

  12. Lisa says:

It is interesting to see how we choose to serve God when and where we like it. I am currently reading the book: “Master and Servant” by Bishop Macedo and I am learning a lot.
If I call myself a servant of the Lord, then it means that I cannot be doing my own thing. I belong to Him and therefore I have to do whatever He wants me to do.

  13. Nandipha Sondlo says:

    Thank you Mrs Cris

This mssage reminds me I’m the one who decide my journey not God but not willing to sacrifice my own will in the past I learned that the hard way but thanks to God cause he gave me a second chance and every time I strive to sacrifice my will even if it is hard I do it cause I know God won’t forsake me.

  14. lindiwe khanyile says:

    Dear Mrs Cris

Thank you for the post ,What caught my attention I am still young I will take things serious later on.

God is waiting on us now not later on.

  15. Ileana Gomez says:

That’s very true. I know alot of girls that acted this way, some unffortunatly never had a second chance.
