Special Visit to Carandiru
June 27, 2012 | By: Cristiane Cardoso | Posted in: Sisterhood
Just like every month where The Raabe project visits the girls in the Carandiru Prison, last month’s visit was a joy. Invited by the project, the singer Sula Miranda, apart from singing, spoke a bit about her life and the importance of being in the presence of God. She gave a word of hope, she listened to and hugged those women. They were marvelled, many knew her through the media. They all made the most of that moment which certainly left a mark.
The evangelism group from Bras and the Esther Group girls distributed the book “Forgiveness” (Bishop Macedo) and hygiene kits with much needed items which the girls always cherish.
Thankful, they paid close attention to the word of God.
The desire to forget a wrong, a bad choice, and to continue life in a different way, grows each time we visit. They must give their names so they may be allowed to participate. We go to many prisons rescuing hundreds of women, young and old, of different nationalities. However through faith, they all understand our message.
Everything is possible for those who believe. That’s what these groups believe in. We leave a word of hope because for change to happen, all it takes it to follow the right way and allow a new beginning to happen and a new story to be written.
The project also reaches out to families. The Raabe and Esther girls also act when they hear a comment on domestic abuse. At each meeting, there is a new testimony and the assurance that we are making a difference in the lives of those who accept our open arms.

Thank You for sharing this to us Mrs.Cris,
Thank God for using this group to reach out many young women and to save them.
May God bless this group more and more and be more used by God.
To God be the Glory..
Good morning Christiane,
This is wonderful! If I were in prison, i would be desperate for outreach like this, I think that prison is a world of it’s own and must be very isolating, i suppose that is the punishment. At least you make them feel cherished .
Again, you are breaking a terrible cycle, abuse, prison, have children abuse them they go to prison, it’s stopping all of that! if you save one, you have probably saved 10, what a wonderful way to show God’s love, after all, our Lord Hung on a cross next to two thieves, and the thieves, he was asked by one, “when you go to paradise, remember me”
So Jesus always has remembered, even when these people forgot themselves, because they did not value themselves, but He did, and you wonderful people are showing these ladies this is so.
God bless all who participate in this in any way or form, this is beautiful!!!
