A true friend would tell her the truth

Have you ever had a friend that is always bad mouthing someone or criticizing them?

You know that what she’s saying is wrong, but you just don’t have the courage to tell her. You’re afraid and worried about what will happen, what her reaction might be.

Well, let me tell you, you are not being a true friend. A true friend wouldn’t just sit back, listen, and just nod as if you were completely agreeing with her.

A true friend would tell her the truth, would tell her that’s she wrong. And instead of being worried of what will happen, you would be worried about her soul, her salvation.

When you find yourself in this situation, you can not be worried of what people will think of you, look beyond that.

Isn’t this what we see in the bible? The Lord Jesus wasn’t worried about what people would think of Him, He was worried about their salvation, where there soul would go. He showed us and gave us many examples of what true love is.

If you truly care and love your friends be sincere with them, tell them the truth.

“love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth” 1 Corinthians 13:6

Mrs Thelma, Love is not self seeking .If I love my friend I will not want her to burn in hell ,I must protect her soul more than our friendship. These is how my Sisters in Christ(Meyerton) are. We don’t care how funny one can be with her jokes ,if it is not in Spirit we rebuke immediately . Thanks for sharing.

This is so very true. However, many people do worry about whether or not their friend will hate them or maybe even judge them on something they never judged on before. As women of God we should be more concerned with the salvation of individuals rather than our temporary relationships on earth.
since coming to Christ I have been blessed with a true friend. She did not realize how much I value the conversations we have until this week. I let her know that I really listen and meditate on our conversations because she is always honest and also because she applies the advice she gives to the word of God. i truly appreciate that because it also helps to keep me on track.
