True marriage – Part 2

As I promised in last week’s post, today I will reveal the little secret that makes our marriage work. And so here it is:
We BOTH fear God. You may think, that’s it? To fear God? Yes, that’s it. We both fear God.
Notice that I didn’t write just about me, but also about my husband. That’s what makes it work. The same way we respect God, we respect each other. I know that if i disappoint my husband, I’ll be also disappointing God.
God’s will is that women respect and obey their husbands and see them as the Lord Jesus. And men, to love and take care of their wives as the Lord Jesus loves and cares for the church.
“Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.” (Ephesians 5:24,25)
When both husband and wife understand this and practice it there’s no going wrong.
How many people get married just because they thought the other person was good looking, seemed to be a “good” person or had a lot of money? Of course you have to be attracted to that person and get along, but above all, it is very important that they both fear God first. Because when they truly do, they will be faithful and respect one another until the end. You can rest assure that they will care and be there for each other at all times. I’m not saying that everything will be perfect, but they will have a true marriage.
So, if your single and looking for someone, be very careful who you choose to be your future husband or wife. Don’t be fooled by what he says or appears to do, but analyze first how seriously he takes his faith in God. If he can’t be faithful to God, most likely, he won’t be to you.

I agree since being a part of the universal church community I have come to realize that men who fear God do have more of a caring spirit. They have standards and moral character.
Fear God. I’ve been learning to apply that on my daily basis and it makes sense now…
